We have flipped a page on our calendar to reflect the new year—2025!
There’s a question I’m asking myself. What opportunity for transformation is God showing you? Likely, you are asking too, as our congregation purposes to focus this ministry year on inviting God to change us.
It was a delight to end 2024 in the book of Psalms to worship the LORD, mark His faithfulness, rest in His constant presence, and the joy we have knowing we will dwell with the LORD forever.
In the ninth and final week of the Woven fall study, Holy: Worthy is His Name, we turned to Psalm 99. In this fourth study written and gifted to us by Karie Lee, we witnessed the Holy God who is present and revealed.
Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the LORD our God is holy! Psalm 99:9
In closing the first semester of Holy: Worthy is His Name, those participating in the Woven study were encouraged to acknowledge the worthiness of the LORD and give Him praise by writing our own Psalm.
This is my Psalm to the LORD.
Worthy
My soul exalts you, O LORD, my God.
You are perfect in love, in wisdom, in power—holy, holy, holy, O LORD, my God.
You are always near, always attentive, always holding me.
You love with a steadfast, ever-lasting love—only you love perfectly.
You are faithful and true and trustworthy in all your ways.
You are kind and good when I understand and when I don’t.
You long for my whole-hearted devotion.
Thank you for teaching me your ways that I will walk in your truth.
Teach me undivided devotion to you.
In your mercy, O LORD, answer me. I grow tired. The noise of the world never ceases, my heart heavy for the trials I face, for those I see in the lives of dear ones near me.
You know. You see. You answer. You are worthy!
In your mercy, O LORD, forgive me. The noise in my own heart and mind are loud. Help me align them obediently to Christ. I don’t know. I don’t always see clearly. I don’t have the answers. But God. You do. You are worthy!
In your mercy, O LORD, transform me. You handle all the things that are broken in me, in those around me, and the circumstances that come from this brokenness. Help me love, forgive, be compassionate and long-suffering so others see Christ in me. You are worthy!
In Your mercy, O LORD, restore me. Heal past wounds. Renew my mind. Revive my heart. Let others see you in me, in every circumstance, for your glory. You are worthy!
My soul rests in you.
You searched for me and found me.
You set my feet on solid ground.
You invite weariness to find its rest in You.
My soul refreshed in your presence.
You are worthy!
I behold you in your word; steadied in Your presence.
Your never-ending love and your mercies anchor me to my eternal hope.
My soul rests in You.
I bow before the LORD my God, finding rest in your arms.
Holy, holy, holy, God of endless grace. You are worthy!
God unveils His holiness in many ways and equips us with wisdom and knowledge and the power of His Spirit to obediently fulfill the lofty command to walk in a manner worthy of our calling. Whatever opportunity for transformation God is showing you—He is worthy!
